Wednesday

They drove on down the road in the old Chevy heading south through southern Nevada in the United States of America in the late spring.
The sky is changing, said Alaska Black as she took in the scene.
An execution is happening, Al said to her.
Those vast spaces and immensely large landscapes seeped deeply into them.
You act fast, Alaska said. So the day moves at a good clip. It humms right along.
No, the minutes pass too slow, Al said. Sucking the air out of me. The simplest of tasks are taking forever to finish.
The time did slip by though because the old road stretched out ahead of them. Thus the thing for them to do was to always keep moving slowly along making a sweet and steady progress.
Still they struggled with this awful something, squirming in their seats as they sang along with songs playing on the CD player.
It's hot here, she said.

They were camped now. The auto parked. The tent pitched. It must be in the high nineties by now, Alaska said.
That's nothing.
Maybe not, but this dang wind sure is blowing. And then calming down for a bit before blowing wildly again and sometimes suddenly with much anger.
That wind was always there always present always in attendence it seemed. And it was getting on Alaska's nerves, gusting against her body, infiltrating her bright spirit.
This place makes one drink lots of water, she said.
It also gets you feasting on the most delicious of dark red sweet juicy strawberries, he said.

She is here now, Hank said.
Alaska had been doing her good deeds upon Hank. Sending him her little nothings notings notes.
She.
She be.
She be it.
Alaska completely loves the romance of it all.
She aint lovin nothin, Al said.
But Alaska did spark a firestorm of feeling. The comfort of her simplicity and the large amount of land, the privacy of that life and this easy freedom around them surrounded them.
You've finally lost all yer marbles, Al said. What little you had to begin with.
No. A happy good fortune is paying us a visit.
Hank provided exactly the sort of speed Alaska had sought.
He the honey deposited in the bank account. Her wild mustang stallion horse of a man that she sat atop while riding the wild range.
Hank is a special surprise. He's the physical vastness. The endless timeless stillness of a constant newness. Working the wide open free country of a land called America.

It works. And works, Alaska said.
Walks, said Hank.
She was working on his walk.
And walks and walks, he said.
Works, she insisted.
Now walking they be.
And sings, she said.
And songs, sang he.
In the rain.
And in the sun, Hank belted.
Winging it, she said.
Living.
It up on the fly, Alaska said.
Feeling the mo...jo.
Yes. And dancing and doing The Tango on the beach in the sand in bare feet in the city of Los Angeles. In California. In the United States. Of America. Dancing the Tango. Dancing it and dancing it.
Yes, he sang. Yes and yes again and more and always and today.
Sing, she said. Sing and sing. You are singing.

It be working. And waking and working and waking. And waking and waking and waking. Waking and waking and waking. Waking up. Waking up and coming to life and now suddenly instantly it be alive fully completely alive. Alive and thriving and going and working it and they doing it and doing it and now it doing it. And then it done. All done. Done deed. And done dead. Done and done and over and through and finished. Finished. Done working. Done. So then now to the playing and the having of the fun. And the fun and more fun. Good plain simple old fun. FUN. Yes, Fun. Fun fun fun in good old Moon Valley. Fun fun fun in great new Fun Valley.

Working it and it working and working. Working and working.
Playing, she said.
Insisted he, working. And working and working on the dance and dancing the dance dancing this dance this beautiful dance of life. Dancing it and it dancing. Life dancing.
Dancing you say? asked she.
Watts that you say?
Watts what?
That is pretty tricky fancy footwork right there.
You asked for it.
I did? When?
This morning.
If you say so, he said.
I say so.
And who might you be to say such a thing.
You seem to be slipping some here now in your discipline. Your clean tight rigorous demanding ruled and regulated discipline.
That's because we have been disciplined to be free as well as disciplined to be clean.
It was working then on them something good. And something fierce. And quite fun it was seeming.
To be free, he continued. Disciplined to be. To be loose and open and on the fly and off the cuff and on the go flying in the moment by the seat of our pants walking the tightest of ropes now with no net underneath us to catch us here on the net. This here inter net thingy.
She said, Boy O Boy we have gotten ourselves and this audience in it thick now yessiree babee.
Yes you have.
Yes yes yes, she said. Sweet old yes. Like sweet old Alabama.
That's sweet home Alabama Miss Skynard.
Home is about as old as old gets here on this here old open wild road dancing down it again. Once again. Now again. Happily again.
It had done its good work for that day in the middle of the fall in the mountains in the northern parts of the country.

It working. Working and working and working.
Work, she said. She demanded. Demanded.
Am busy playing, he said. Playing and playing and playing.
So you be.
Playing and playing, he said. And playing and playing.
Un believable, she said.
You best believe it. It is true.
Just fine. Juuust fffine.
Believe it and believe it and never leave it and so always have it.
Do got it. Got it, she said. And it got me.
Me schmee ski. Go skiing here in the snow you fine high flying sky spy.
In your eye. In front of your face. Front and center. Center stage.
Music to the ears, he said. Music and more music. The music of this amusing muse we seem to have met.
Excuse me?
The only excuse for you is having once been a recluse and now a fugitive on the loose.
Say we lose this nonsense and get to the serious play. Playing and playing and going and going and playing.
Working, she said.
